Photorealistic pictures can be generated using RENDER (from Raster3D). This Windows port of the well known unix software is very easy to use. Just set the view using ORTEX and a few mouse clicks will generate pictures of molecules or of a packed lattice. The options are simple and the colour map is editable.
Photorealistic movies can be generated again with just a few mouse clicks using Rasmov. Pictures are automatically converted to .gif and combined into a movie.
These programs write JPG, TIF, BMP and GIF files.
