Operation of the 590 X-ray generator
- Only persons who are considered "authorized users" (i.e. those
who have viewed the X-ray safety video and have received personal instruction
from the Facility Directory (Dr. Paul Boyle) or from Professor James Martin
are considered "authorized users".
- For normal operation the user should be familar with Section 4.2 of
the FR590 User Manual (normally located in the beige storage cabinet at
the rear of the Facility. For advanced operation ( in "590 mode") the
user should also be familar with Section 6 of the FR590 User Manual.
Use of the 590 mode is not required for operation of the instrument.

there are no knobs or dials, only buttons (or "keys" as the manual calls
them).
Procedure for turning on the FR590 X-ray generator
