31st October 2000There has been feedback from some people using UK dial-in modem based accounts to access CCP14 software having problems with disconnects during attempted downloads. While no errors are showing up in the logs indicating why this may be occuring; if this has affected you, please can you contact the CCP14 with some diagnostic information on date/time/files this is occuring with. One possibility is there "might" be short-term networking glitches here that are happen but would only affect people downloading files off very slow modem style links that were not all that "freeze"/error tolerant. This would still be a problem with the network which the CCP14 links into so needs to be reported so there is a good chance the problem can be correctly diagnosed and correctly fixed.
Also, if downloading the Cygwin gcc and g77 c/fortran compilers - make sure you use the latest version of the setup program. One reason why a downloaded program cannot download is it has been modified in a way that only the updated installer can recognise. |
